Involved in  renovations at STLCC Florissant Valley Humanities building, Advising and implementing best practices to meet OSHA standards for workshops to assure classroom safety for students, staff, and faculty.  2022 - 2023

 

Student Organization Advisor, STLCC Florissant Valley

Duties include mentoring club members on organizing, budgeting, facilitating, and executing student organization projects, events, and interstate travel to visit museums, art galleries, and to tour universities for transfer students. Student organization advisors work directly with students to help them identify their own goals and needs and find ways to work towards them. 2022 - Current

 

Educational Assistant, STLCC Florissant Valley

Duties include maintenance of studios and studio equipment,  fulfilling order form requests for supplies for studio art classes,  and writing “Fix-it” requests for maintenance of areas of the classrooms that are beyond my own duties and skill-sets. - 2020 - Current

 

Social Practice 

 

Public Sculptor - Commissioned by the parents of Michael Brown Jr. to create a collaborative, life-sized sculpture of Michael Brown Jr. to be exhibited at several locations during the anniversary of his death. - 2024

 

Community Organizer - Organized a multi-faith, multicultural, vigil to grieve innocent lives lost and raise relief funds during the beginning of the bombing of Gaza. - St. Francis Xavier Church, St. Louis University -  2024

 

Community Organizer - Congregated multiple community gardens together to deliver approximately 800 lbs of surplus produce to shelters, food pantries, and soup kitchens in the St. Louis region during first the summer of the Covid 19 pandemic. - 2020

 

Community Organizer - Created and Facilitated an online art auction by coordinating with artists on the local and national level to benefit the unhoused community of the St. Louis metropolitan area, raising over $10k in funds during the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic. - 2020

Awarded $15,000 for the creation of public monument, titled “Three Columns” Artist In Residence - Kranzberg Arts Foundation - St. Louis, Missouri - 2022-2023 Great Rivers Biennial Finalist - Contemporary Art Museum - St. Louis, Missouri - Fall 2021 John H. Pohlman Scholarship 2017-2020. $2000 annual award for qualifying graduate students Bill and Jean Luan STEAM Scholarship, SIUE – 2019 – First student ever granted this award for $1000 Full Tuition Scholarship - SIUE - 2017-2020   John W.
